Question: NNELS is educating publishers on how to make born-accessible books. Also doing user testing with platforms and technologies like OverDrive. #AccessibleBooks
US service completely funded federally, whereas in the UK uses a charity model. Canada wanted to steer away from the charity model #AccessibleBooks
CELA and NNELS also get provincial and territorial funding, but because they're national services, it's critical for them to get national funding. #AccessibleBooks
Big picture: $4 million a year is basically a "rounding error" in the federal budget, and the organizations serve the 10% of people in the country who have a print disability. #AccessibleBooks

Answer: NNELS has annual audited statement on the library co-op website. Money goes toward staffing—book conversion is labour intensive—and book purchases. #AccessibleBooks

Answer: If funding is cut, NNELS and CELA wouldn't be able to produce or distribute content at the extent they do now. #AccessibleBooks
