#FungiFriends
I have been lazy posting token daily #zombie #fungi finds lately. But today while weaving my dance of death among the devil figs, I found a nice #akanthomyces on a #moth. And I thought, bluesky ppls might like seeing that.
So if you are hunting a particular #entomopathogenic #fungi species to photograph, the result will depend a lot on what "morph" you find, and at what part of its life cycle. And then theres perspective. For example #Akanthomyces on moths, deserve to be photographed as royalty. #respect
Not sure on this next spider eater. I previously thought it was an #akanthomyces but now leaning more towards #hevansia
OPERATION *NO REST FOR THE DEAD* #Zombie Hunter hot jungle tips :) Like all life forms, majority will try blend in. The stand outs are all bright orange & large. But most are small brown or white, like this #Akanthomyces on a spider. Its not about how far you go, its what you SEE where you are!
I think we have an #akanthomyces fungi species feasting on a spider host here, and then a hyperparasite fungi feasting an akanthomyces feasting on a spider. Theres always a less fussy fungi, just like theres always a bigger fish ;)
#Akanthomyces are another #entomopathogenic #zombie #fungi that also hunts #moth and #butterfly, as well as sometimes spiders. It can be a very long lived fungi, and I have visited examples over many months.
