Could be. Many creatives are finding rl to be extremely stressful.
You should also consider her having Long Covid. That alone can eff up life a great deal. :/ I don't have it, but I know folks who do.

I'm as impatient as anyone waiting for Alecto the Ninth, but I do feel bad for the other Tor Books writers when every promo social post from the publisher now is just a flood of "Alecto when? Release the Barbie!" comments.

You won't have the book until a year after she's done with it. She may be doing revisions. Book may be in edits, it may be up to proofreading. Or not.

I made a Google alert for Tamsyn Muir and all it pulls up are lists o of other authors from the Mary Sue which namedrop her (1-2 per week). I found out that she had a Love, Death, and Robots script by watching the episode and seeing who was involved. #AlectoPause
