🌍 Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) The Egyptian goose is a stocky, pale brown and grey water bird with a distinctive dark brown eye patch. In flight, it shows contrasting white wing patches. Native to Africa, it has been introduced to Europe and North America. It inhabits wetlands, grasslands, and parks. Egyptian geese are territorial and can be aggressive, especially during breeding. They primarily eat plants and form strong pair bonds, often seen in pairs or family flocks outside the breeding season. No subspecies are recognised.
