A wooden bridge crosses over a slow-moving river. There are rock walls along the sides of the river, and pine trees with deciduous trees in fall foliage mixed throughout, filling the rest of the scene. The deep blue sky has wispy white clouds. A perfect fall day. From the original posting: "I fell in love with Alpine County, CA the moment I first experienced it, and Jeremy agreed so much that we decided to get married there. In fact, we got our wedding license about 300 yards to the left of where this photo was taken, in Markleeville. Every time I pass this bridge I think, 'I have to shoot that someday.' I got up at 5:30 this morning and drove up to the mountains, listened to music, enjoyed the sunrise. On my way back through, the light was just starting to hit this area and I thought ... today's the day. This town was seriously threatened this year, by the Tamarack Fire. In fact, on my way back out of Markleeville, I was stopped because they are now clearing out all the burned and dead trees. I'm so glad the firefighters stopped the fire before it wiped out this beautiful town. In 1989, this East Fork of the Carson River was designated a 'Wild and Scenic River' by the State of California. I concur."
