An Australian pelican, a large white bird with partially black wings, yellow fish-like eyes, and an absurdly large pale pink bill, is lunge feeding in the water. The photo is caught mid-lunge, with the pelican's neck fully extended, its head turned sideways, and the pink sack on the bottom bill distended full of water. The sea water around is grey-silver with pale yellow highlights from the late afternoon sun. There are ripples from wind, and tiny ripples from droplets sprayed by the pelican mid-lunge. There are also some bubbles at the pelican's side. The overall effect is both graceful and ungainly
Another bird picture - this is one of a flock of pelicans local to me, and I have many, many photos of them. When I was a small child pelicans frightened me, because I genuinely thought they might try to eat me up.
