Walked another section of the #TrentAndMerseyCanal with John from Barrington to the #AndertonBoatLift. Lots of rural views and the #BarntonTunnel & #SaltersfordTunnel. Came back along the River Weaver. It was a scorcher!
A large metal structure towering above a canalised section of river. It resembles something from War of the Worlds. A blue Canal & River Trust trip boat (the Edwin Clark) is in the foreground.
The #AndertonBoatLift, one of the wonders of the UK waterways. Built in 1875 to raise & lower boats the 50 feet between the #RiverWeaver (pictured) & the Trent & Mersey Canal. Currently closed for renovation, but the (excellent) visitor centre remains open. #Canals #Northwich #Cheshire
