Bernard 2025 walkthroughs review.

#Andhera: 5/10

Case in point this Indian horror show. It was all set up in the premise but became some weird vanity project long before the drawn out, unimaginative ending.

#Khauf TV ep #1.03 "Venom" (18-Apr-25).
This is how I ranked the other Indian horror streaming series that I've done:

#Andhera 5/10
#Adhura 4/10
#TheLastHour 4/10
#Typewriter 3/10

"Khauf" is excellent, scary, grimy and intricate. It's heading for far better marks but I've been burned before.

#Khauf TV ep #1.02 "Stalker" (18-Apr-25).
If #Andhera was about depression then #Khauf is about sexual violence on women. However Andera was an unsubtle dog's dinner in how it dealt with its theme. This is engaging. At first we don't even realise Mahdu had been raped. So we have to work it out.

#Khauf TV ep #1.01 "Ladies Hostel" (18-Apr-25).
This is so much better as yet than #Andhera. The latter was flashy showboat slop from Mumbai this is gritty, grimy fare from Delhi. This is subtler, feels like it is saying something about Delhi and unlike #Andhera will try deliver actual horror.

#Andhera TV ep #1.08 "Eternal Night" (14-Aug-25).
Hated every single second. Horrible waste of a good idea. Lazy, desperate, longwinded, needy gibberish. Yet another promising Indian horror series ends up as forgettable mush.

End of walkthrough.

Do I recommend?
कोई आश्चर्य नहीं, no I fuc*en don't.

#Andhera TV 1.07 cont'd.
Ayesha runs Uberlife via an AI image of her ill dad. Like is the show now about AI? No it's not so why is a sci-fi AI use suddenly being introduced? It's not part of what the show is about. Why wasn't Ayesha's family even mentioned before now?
So overegged this puddin'.

There was a great story here but this need by Indian TV makers to be seen and make a splash means their stories end up as unfocused everything-and-the-pan sludge.
This show was already in the lane it needed to be before all the sci-fi pharma claptrap was dumped into the mix.

The fake lab thing makes no sense? Like when did that happen and how did they know to plan for that..
Did Darius let himself be killed?
The comic story is like an attempt at being in with the nerds but is 100% unnecessary as Rumi's mom's records hav all the info they need.

#Andhera TV ep #1.07 "Follow the Data" (14-Aug-25).
This is a mess . Part 7 barely follows on from part 6 and is totally fractured .
I was going to say they wasted Ayesha by fridging her but no there's a twist. But the thing is I don't buy any of this slop. Another Indian horror TV dud for me.

Also instead of all the corporate bull and sci-fi fodder we've had to endure with Dr Sahay instead we should've had proper drama with Rumi and her uncle who is Jay's Doctor and has the same qualifications as Dr Sahay. He could've been in with Aatma.

Again लक्ष्य में बदलाव!!!!

Neglecting the Kalpana/Ayesha ship was a mistake. Not an issue had the show kept its focus solely on the health centre.
LIkewise Kalpana's getting recruited by Special Bureau just removes all the juicy conflict built up in the cop shop.

लक्ष्य में बदलाव writers!!
यह बुरी बात है!!

#Andhera TV ep #1.06 "Kya tumhara naam Tama hai?" (14-Aug-25).
Again the corp pharma stuff is pretty much unneeded. Vatsal Sheth seems to have wandered in from some other genre.
Destroying the machine to destroy the monster is silly logic This show doesn't need logic especially silly TV logic.

Both ships are great. Mumbai at night backdrop is too.
The horror scenes are great. Getting rid of the colour palette is a bit unsubtle but those scenes have their own feel. That electronic beat music that arrives is unsettling.

Shame about all the generic sci-fi crap.

#Andhera TV ep #1.05 "Maut ko maat" (14-Aug-25).
The pharma corp skullduggery is interminably banal but I like everything else.
Reviving Prithvi with a banned drug is dull plot and a computer immortality study is such old hat.
Has Jude has sold out already and that doll has a spy camera in it?

#Andhera TV ep #1.04 "Aatma" (14-Aug-25).
The problem is that both the Aatma centre and the Uberlife corp are being investigated. We simply don't need a corrupt pharma story. That's been done to death elsewhere. The cop conspiracy works as well without it. Should have just limited it to Aatma.

The reveals are keeping me interested.
Could've done without the comics nerd being so on the nose.

Wasn't a horror story printed in an old comic being relevant also used in a prior recent Indian horror TV series on Prime?

Ayesha seems oblivious to Aatma's shenanigans.

#Andhera TV ep #1.03 "Patient X" (14-Aug-25).
I can forgive the sci-fi inclusion as it's clearly meant to blend sci-fi and horror. Even the two protagonists, Jay and Rumi, represent each respectively.
Yet the sci-fi does make it feel a 90s/00s relic, ie tech gubbins goes wonky and creates a horror.

#Andhera Ep 1.02 cont'd.
I'm sure the therapy, the abductions and the tech will be related in some way with the darkness arriving in Mumbai. But the show has decent horror scenes every ep being delivered without some BS 1990s style tech thriller underpinning the horror.
This doesn't need logic.

#Andhera TV ep #1.02 "It Watches Us" (14-Aug-25).
Ok we started venturing into sci-fi which makes me feel like this show will head over a cliff. I didn't like the sci-fi bits but they haven't taken over the story yet.
The end was a bit overwrought. Can feel a narrative cliff edge close now!

I hope the blogger has a secret in her locker and not be a cliché. But her character is very strong
The female cop is also adorable and has a dark backstory which we haven't been slammed over the head with yet.
The darkness does look a bit K-Drama but as a threat it works.

#Andhera TV ep #1.01 "Andhera Kha Gaya" (14-Aug-25).
Good first ep but I've been here before with Indian horror.
Wasn't the female cop in a man's office in another TWO Indian horror series recently?
I liked the characters, the set up and a lot of the atmosphere.
Decent slow reveals.
