do NOT issue the command "nvram -c" on an ASi Mac! it won't boot anymore. also, verbose mode is definitely gone for good. or at least I don't know how to invoke it (CMD-V or nvram boot-args="-v" both do nothing). and there's no single-user mode I know of...

I suspected this since a very long time... the Flurry screensaver in macOS consumes way more power than Arabesque. now we have proof, down to the milliwatt!
Total Package Power consumed:
Flurry ~650 mW
Arabesque ~375 mW
Drift ~850 mW
Message ~10 mW

power efficiency of #AppleSiliconM1 is very, very impressive: macOS Big Sur with idle desktop, screen locked. running an SSH session from my iMac 5K into Macmini9,1. the 4 performance cores are completely switched off, the whole package (DRAM&CPUs&GPU) consumes only ~10 mW!
