This is "Appledore" by John Cooper from 1935. The tower on the horizon was Chanter's Folly which was, very sadly, demolished in October 1952. It had fallen in to disrepair & it had been deemed to be unsafe. #JohnCooper #Appledore #EastLondonGroup

This is "Appledore" by John Cooper from 1935. The painting has been exhibited on more than one occasion with this title but, in the Lefevre catalogue from 1935 it is listed as ""The Prince of Wales", Appledore" which was the white building in the centre of the painting. #JohnCooper #Appledore
