This beige mushroom with a dark center is growing from a long-rotting log in the woods. Its light color makes the daddy long legs spider standing on it very easy to spot with each of its 8 legs clearly visible.

While I'm on the subject of polypores, #mushrooms, and reasonable facsimiles (see yesterday's skeet), this black-footed polypore is doing an unseasonable facsimile of Christmas by trying out 'elf on a shelf'.
