If #CityofRegina did something like this, it costs less than the entire project to add a new bypass route south of the city, a road to nobody.

The city just yesterday approved borrowing millions of dollars, ostensibly to improve the safety of #ArcolaAve intersections. What would actually work is to get more people using Regina Transit down that stretch, adding a protected bike lane, and slowing the speed down to 50km/h or less. #YQRtraffic

The Youngest kiddo saw another #yqrtraffic collision at Lacon St. and #ArcolaAve today. There was another one yesterday!

Every person (not just taxpayer) in #YQR is expected to pay $345 for this street to nobody. #ArcolaAve

Yep, Regina thinks adding left turn lanes on #ArcolaAve after 2025, is acceptable while it strives to be #100Renewable by 2050 in only 25 years. New streets can last a hundred years, so it makes no sense to add another highway to nowhere.

"Still looking to hear back about what the Arcola Ave and Prince of Wales extension to Wascana Parkway does to address the 7 Big Moves of the Energy and Sustainability Framework. I don't understand why it is taking weeks to respond when it should be as simple as mentioning which of the 7, and elaborating how. The project is costing tens of millions of dollars, and is far more expensive than cycling infrastructure has cost the city for decades, so it must be pretty good for sustainability, right?"

I cannot imagine why City Hall is dodging this question the past 6 days (plus the few years ago I asked it also).

Goal is "Targeted and ambitious initiatives and timelines".
Report shows 2 possible curves of emissions, one goes to zero at 2050, the other does not.
2023 Big Moves were clarified more.
(City hasn't told me what Big Moves the planned $78M #ArcolaAve rebuild and PoWales extension addresses.)
