I have only known one other person who ever mentioned him.
(like, considering the circles I travel in its downright odd that only two people have talked about #Aretino around me)
#Aretino is a little-known figure now but was the first to really realize the potential of the printing press & the inventor of the gossip rag and "political porn." He's holding the flayed skin of #Michelangelo on the Sistine Chapel and it's one of my favorite stories.
#frescoFriday today another #Aretino but this time from the hilltop church of San Miniato al Monte. Ok so the "Monte" bit is pushing it, but it still has arguably the finest view looking back over the city of #Florence.
And the #frescos are pretty damn good too!
For #FrescoFriday if you can overlook the more renowned cycles of #PierodellaFrancesca in #Arezzo, the city is full of fine mediaeval art.
