I just watched Jean Pierre-Melville's masterpiece #ArmyofShadows (1969, French: L'armée des ombres). An unflinching, unglamorous look at the French Resistance during Nazi-occupied France in WWII. Brutal, ugly and unforgettable.

Last night's #nfotd was Korean film #TheAgeOfShadows by Kim Jee-woon. I'll watch any film with Song Kang-ho. Plus Lee Byung-hun. It's about the Korean resistance. Title made me wonder if it was inspired by #ArmyOfShadows? Beautifully shot.
