The Penguin Galaxy This is a stunning pair of interacting galaxies, nicknamed "the Penguin" and "the Egg," due to their striking resemblance to the adorable aquatic bird.

NGC 2936, NGC 2937, and PGC 1237172 are known jointly as #Arp142. The galaxies are approximately the same mass, which is why one hasn’t consumed the other.

These are included in the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies as #Arp142 in the category "Galaxy triplet".
