An inset with a blue snoot, bluish legs, yellowish coloring on the body, and blue wings with green patches toward the body, and yellow patches with with dots transitioning to dark yellow veins with dark patches at the end. It is standing on a mottled log with dark greens in the background.

A closer view of the butterfly from the previous image. This butterfly has brown wings with orange or scarlet markings, and white spots. This one is depicted with a top down view, with the insect's head facing down. The wings are spread so we see the top surface. It is painted on a tall rectangle the color of a swimming pool. The light is coming from the upper right, so the insect is casting a strong shadow to the left and below the butterfly. The watercolor pigments used are PO73 Pyrrole Orange for the wing markings, PG50 Cobalt Teal for the background color, and PB27 Prussian Blue. The Prussian Blue is combined with the pyrrole orange to make the various brown and black tones in the wings. Some Martin's Bleedproof White was used for the white markings and highlights in the wings
