#Bioacoustics formed a big part of last week's Sutherland field trip. Students recorded birds on @openacousticdevices.info #Audiomoths (analysed with @chirpity-nocmig.bsky.social), used heterodyne bat detectors and set a PIPPYG by the digs - with Common Pipistrelles on both.

Yesterday, I went back to Doñana's marshaland after almost one year. The extraordinay flooding of this spring and summer made innaccesible the area by car until now, what is a problem to replace batteries and cards of #AudioMoths. Always a luxury to work here. #BIRDeep

As a part of the PhD thesis of Loréna Boisseau, we have installed several #AudioMoths at two parks of Seville (Spain). My name is Pat and I'm a PhD student in the @kitzeslab.bsky.social at the University of Pittsburgh. My research focuses on using #AudioMoths to monitor birds in restored forests across Pennsylvania. I also use machine learning classifiers to detect birdsong within my recordings.
