Partner Revenue Measurement now supports User Agent string for certain AWS services Today, AWS announces the general availability of Partner Revenue Measurement User Agent string — a new capability that enables AWS Partners to measure AWS service consumption driven by their solutions using AWS APIs and SDKs. Partner Revenue Measurement allows Partners to better understand their AWS revenue impact and product consumption patterns. The User Agent string capability allows Partners to embed a unique product code from their AWS Marketplace listing as a user agent to quantify and measure the AWS revenue impact of that solution across certain services.   Partners can now add a user agent (format APN_1.1/pc_<AWS Marketplace product-code>$) in their application to enable AWS service consumption measurement by solution across partner-managed and customer-managed accounts. Partners can also set an environment variable in their SDKs or configure a setting in their AWS shared configuration file to automatically apply the User Agent string to all AWS service calls. This method supports automated deployments across Python, Node.js, Java, Kotlin, and other AWS SDKs, by capturing attribution for API-driven workloads and complements Partner Revenue Measurement’s Resource Tagging and AWS Marketplace Metering integration capabilities. Partner Revenue Measurement is generally available in all commercial regions. To learn more about User Agent string implementation, visit the User Agent implementation guide and services supported. To learn more about Partner Revenue Measurement capabilities, review the onboarding guide for more information.

🆕 AWS now offers the Partner Revenue Measurement User Agent string, allowing partners to track service consumption via APIs and SDKs, embedding unique codes to measure revenue impact across select services. Available globally in all commercial regions.

AWS Marketplace sellers can now self-serve refunds and agreement cancellations AWS Marketplace now offers sellers a streamlined self-service process for refunds and agreement cancellations, reducing the time and effort required to process these requests. This new capability eliminates the need to file support tickets, and gives both sellers and buyers full visibility into the latest status of each request. Buyers can now review and approve cancellation requests directly from the AWS Marketplace console, and see refunds reflected on their charge summary for easier reconciliation. Additionally, Know Your Customer (KYC) verification is now only triggered for invoices that require compliance validation, so sellers can process refunds for KYC-exempt invoices without unnecessary verification delays. With this launch, sellers can request refunds or cancellations from the Agreements page in the seller portal or programmatically through the AWS Marketplace Agreement APIs. These requests are pre-populated with agreement and invoice data and processed automatically. Sellers can then track every request from submission through completion. Billing adjustments are processed automatically without requiring buyer approval, allowing sellers to refund charges on paid invoices or reduce outstanding balances on unpaid invoices. For agreement cancellations, sellers submit a request and share an approval link directly with the buyer, who has seven days to respond before the cancellation proceeds automatically. All parties receive email and Amazon EventBridge notifications for every status change, enabling integration with their operational workflows. For Channel Partner Private Offer agreements, the channel partner initiates the refund or cancellation request, and the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) receives notifications for visibility. Seller self-service refunds and agreement cancellations are available in all commercial AWS Regions where AWS Marketplace is supported. To learn more, see Refunds and cancellations in the AWS Marketplace Seller Guide. For information about responding to seller-initiated cancellation requests and tracking refunds, see Refunds and cancellations in the AWS Marketplace Buyer Guide.

AWS Marketplace introduces localized billing for Professional Services from AWS EMEA AWS Marketplace now offers a more localized experience for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) customers purchasing Professional Service solutions via AWS EMEA Marketplace Operator. Customers can now procure Professional Services using localized payment methods and receive invoices from AWS EMEA. This removes previous procurement barriers caused by complex payment remittance processes between different AWS entities, which made it difficult for EMEA customers to purchase Professional Services through AWS Marketplace. Key benefits include support for SEPA (Single Euro Payment Area) payment methods and invoicing consistency from the same AWS entity covering all AWS Marketplace purchases via AWS EMEA Marketplace Operator. This capability is ideal for EMEA customers purchasing consulting, implementation, or managed services through AWS Marketplace. It also benefits organizations that prefer local payment methods such as SEPA direct debit, want to consolidate AWS and Marketplace billing, or are seeking a simpler procurement experience for Professional Services. This capability is available for EMEA customers who purchase professional services solutions in AWS Marketplace, with AWS EMEA as the Marketplace Operator. AWS Marketplace now supports mandatory purchase orders and custom messaging AWS Marketplace now supports mandatory purchase order requirements and custom messaging at the time of purchase, allowing organizations to strengthen their procurement governance. These capabilities help procurement, software asset management, and cloud governance teams enforce compliance policies while maintaining purchasing agility. Administrators can now enforce their mandatory purchase order policy by requiring buyers to provide purchase orders when subscribing to products through AWS Marketplace. These requirements can be applied to purchases through a private and public offer across various pricing types. Additionally, administrators can add a custom message on the procurement page, providing guidance on policy requirements and support contacts. AWS Launches Resilience Software Competency to help customers build highly available applications Today, AWS announced the expansion of its AWS Resilience Competency program to include Technology Partners, helping customers identify and implement software solutions that enhance the availability and resilience of their critical cloud workloads. This new offering addresses the growing demand for "always on, always available" applications and services. The AWS Resilience Software Competency validates partner solutions across three essential categories: Design (high availability solutions including proxy and load balancing), Recovery (disaster recovery and data replication), and Operate (continuous resilience through observability and chaos engineering). All participating partners undergo rigorous technical validation by AWS experts to ensure they meet strict performance and operational requirements. As Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon, explains: "Everything fails, all the time. With validated and curated solutions from AWS Resilience Partners, customers can achieve in AWS, with a fraction of the cost, a higher system availability they could ever experience if still running critical workloads on-premises." This program follows AWS's shared responsibility model, where AWS manages cloud infrastructure resilience while providing customers with trusted tools and partners to ensure workload resilience. To get started with the AWS Resilience Software Competency program and browse qualified partners, visit the https://aws.amazon.com/resilience/partners/. Solutions are available through AWS Marketplace for streamlined procurement.

AWS Marketplace now supports variable payments for professional services Today, AWS Marketplace announces the general availability of variable payments, a new billing option that allows professional services sellers to bill customers as work is delivered. This capability allows sellers to set contract caps and create payment requests throughout project delivery, rather than requiring upfront payment or fixed installment schedules. Professional services engagements often involve complexity and uncertainty, making it challenging to accurately scope and price deliverables before work begins. Variable payments supports a flexible engagement approach, while providing transparency and control for buyers. AWS Marketplace Sellers can create private offers for professional services and utilize variable payments to bill up to a predetermined contract maximum. This allows sellers to bill in AWS Marketplace based on outcomes, as milestones are completed, or as time and materials are consumed. Throughout the engagement, sellers create payment requests that describe deliverables and specify milestones or time and materials. Customers receive email notifications and can review and approve each request manually, or enable auto-approval for streamlined processing. To learn more, visit the https://docs.aws.amazon.com/marketplace/latest/userguide/proserv-variable-payments.html, or access the https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/management/offers/ to create a professional services private offer with variable payment.

Partners, from Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to System Integrators, can now sell comprehensive solutions in AWS Marketplace by combining their own software and services with products they are authorized to resell from other AWS Partners. Each component maintains distinct pricing and terms, giving partners and customers flexibility in how they structure the sale. Partners can position solutions to their target audience by outlining use cases and explaining how components work together. Customers benefit from streamlined procurement with a single point of contact for negotiation, total cost assessment, and one-time approval covering all products. After purchase, customers have the flexibility to independently manage renewals and term lengths for each component, making this approach valuable for organizations addressing complex use cases that require multiple products and services. This new capability is available in all https://docs.aws.amazon.com/marketplace/latest/buyerguide/supported-regions.html where AWS Marketplace operates, supporting SaaS, Server, AI Agents and Tools, Machine Learning, and Professional Services product types.
