Good to hear @botanygeek.bsky.social advice on UK soils on #BBCGQT - it always confuses me how much fertilising gardens is promoted. I suspect it's the chemical industry trying to peddle their products on unsuspecting gardeners.

But my favourite aquilegia is this beauty, white with glorious pinkish purple. These plants are one of the best as the foliage is also so attractive. #mayBlooms #BBCGQT

Weak compost advice on this week's #BBCGQT - I never buy sead compost (or any for that matter), I mix various stuff from my compost, soil and sand to make my own.

Always find it amusing when hedgerows are talked about as if hedgerows were naturally occurring.
