Birthdays for Natrali were often difficult. After her mother died, she often found herself forced to sequester away someplace private and safe to celebrate alone. Her siblings loathed the day and she was uncomfortable sharing it with her father

Day 3: Family
When Amara was taken by the nautiloid, she was presumed dead, but her big sister Maya never gave up hope.
They were reunited when Amara made it back home to Baldur's Gate, only to be separated again as Amara followed Karlach to Avernus in search of a cure for her engine.

Friends are the real reason Pyris fights. There's the whole "do what's right, solve ails worldwide, etc." but at the end of the day, the "needs of my friends distract me from the needs of the many". Not on purpose, but the vicinity of a problem bumps it up on the scale.

The two people Natrali considers her best friends are Gale and Astarion. Despite what people think about Sorcerers being unlearned, thanks in part to their natural magical talent, Natrali did study up some in her youth. Knowledge is important to her +
For Lyria home is more a feeling than an actual place. Somewhere she feels safe and secure, and that can be driven more by the people she's with, than the location.
She and Astarion have a small house in Baldur's Gate, which Jaheira keeps an eye on when they are out of the city.

I think this little drabble explains it for Tommy. :) But in short, home was never a place for him, only people, and the Gate a bit of a weight on his shoulders.
But he hopes to make a life where both place and person can feel comfortably like home.
