I urge colleagues with relevant expertise to co-sign this letter against the narrow interpretation of biology which seeks to exclude trans, NB, intersex, & gender non-conforming people from policy.
#BNA2025 showed that Neuroscience is a diverse & inclusive field that understands biology is complex.
What a #BNA2025 it was.
From plenaries to podcasts, keynotes to cathedrals, it was brilliant.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed and made it such a brilliant success 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A special shoutout to @tspiresjones.bsky.social, Kate Baker and @emmayhnell.bsky.social, for their engaging taster sessions, which were very well received by #BNA2025 attendees.
What a week at #BNA2025! Liverpool truly exceeded expectations, and so did the festival!
I am especially proud of the session I chaired, where Charlotte Shepherd and I showcased the work of @britishneuro.bsky.social Accreditation and Training working group.
From Tau2025 to #BNA2025 @britishneuro.bsky.social in Liverpool! We had the opportunity to host a session on Glial Mechanisms in Primary Tauopathy, sponsored by ARUK. Our PhD student Lois Keavey gave a super talk, followed by Dr. Aitana Sogorb-Esteve and Prof. Delphine Boche 🧠🧠🧠
Had a fantastic time at #BNA2025. Really enjoyed connecting with fellow neuroscientists, sharing ideas, and getting inspired by all the amazing research!

"In complex projects like GALENOS that face the challenge of how to deliver meaningful lived experience engagement, we must get used to discomfort. If you're experiencing this, it likely indicates that you're on the right path."
