Recently, a Horned Grebe turned up on a dock here in Sitka, AK, calm, unbothered by people, and completely out of place.

At Ithumba, the orphans have perfected the art of soil dusting — an important ritual that protects their skin against the sun and biting insects.

Each of these elephants was rescued and raised through our Orphans’ Project, so that they can return to a fully wild life when ready.
