On #ThisDayInHistory in 1854, #GoldMiners in #Victoria, #Australia, revolted over pervasive #PoliceBrutality and high licence fees. They burnt the mining permits and occupied #BakeryHill, #Ballarat. 300 soldiers attacked the #miners in the #BattleOfTheEurekaStockade, killing 22.
