Inverurie Castle, 1 of the 1st in Scotland, stood here from 12th C. Thereโs 4 Pictish Symbol Stones (a unique horse on one) & evidence of Neolithic & Bronze Age activity. Also, a WWII pillbox stands about 2/300 metres away too!

Went past this motte from the 1100s. The site also has a cairn for the battle of Inverurie in 1308, & close by is one for a 2nd battle of Inverurie in 1745. There are also Pictish symbol stones &, 100 yds away, across the river Don, thereโs a WWII pillbox. A great site!
