A wooden park bench creates a stark contrast to its wintery surroundings. Snow in the foreground leads to the bench, which seems to look out to nothing but more snow and white fog. Branches on a tree, to the left, bend slightly to the weight of the ice that has formed on them. A bush is below the branches and more bushes are to the right of the bench, down at the frozen water's edge. Black-and-white processing gives even more contrast to the already bleak scene. The photo was shot on the western edge of Bate Island, in Ottawa, and looks westward along the Ottawa River. A watermark to the bottom left shows the copyright symbol and a stylized font with my name, Ross Brown.
