Labour won the #BatleyAndSpen By-Election, but their 35.3% is not good for Starmer - it's 7.4% down on 2019.

A brilliant result against the darkness. Worth noting that if the Green Party candidate hadn’t withdrawn, #BatleyAndSpen would have gone to the Tories. A progressive alliance can work together to #GTTO - make it formal Labour!

If Labour has managed to hold #BatleyAndSpen, it's going to be down to the candidate herself. In a race this close, though, with a much-reduced majority, low turnout and alt-right disinformation attacks, everyone will be able to spin their own narrative.
