#OTD 22/2/1944 #BattleOfAtlantic -U550 Damaged by Canso aircraft from 162 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force South of Iceland. -Four Depth Charges were dropped on the U-Boat, killing two sailors. U-550 was sunk later on this patrol on 16 April 1944.

#OTD 22/12/1943 #BattleOfAtlantic -Four Beaufighters from 404 Sqn @RCAF_ARC with 4 Beaufighters from 144 Sqn RAF attack/damage U1062 escorted by German minesweeper M-489 S off Farsund, Norway. One submariner was killed & 2 wounded. Heavy return fire shot down 2 of 404's aircraft.
#OTD 19/11/1943 #BattleOfAtlantic -U648 Attacked by a Sunderland from 422 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force mid-Atlantic. Aircraft severely damaged by return fire from U-Boat and messaged they were going to ditch an hour later. No trace of the Sunderland or its 11 aircrew was found.

#OTD 31/10/1943 #BattleOfAtlantic -U1061 Damaged by a Wellington from 407 Sqn @RCAF_ARC, dropping 6 six depth charges ahead of the conning tower of U1061. Their attack was followed by a B-24 from 224 Sqn RAF. The U1061 severely damaged, managed to escape to Maloy, Norway.
