A cozy, dimly lit bedroom scene viewed from the bed, where two dogs are lying comfortably — a light-colored dog sprawled across the middle and a brindle and white dog resting in the foreground. A TV on the opposite wall shows a woman with long brown hair speaking, creating a warm glow. The room is filled with eclectic decor: framed artwork, houseplants, a rainbow bookshelf organized by color, and various personal touches. A macrame plant hanger, diplomas, and stickers add character to the space. A fan, dresser, and a slightly messy floor suggest a lived-in, homey environment.

Hell Of An Ending (introducing yourselves)2. Oakland’s own Gaylord Birch is TIGHT (the looseness of the arrangement is what is important here. I know you can’t unpavlov (or escape) the “Thriller effect” ——meaning after the arrival of MTV suddenly this unreachable standard became the norm in which artists HAD to match (verbatim) the energy and performance of the record AND video ——which leads us to a 40 year black hole trek into this unattainable nirvana land of perfection (the worst word for creative people which is why i DEFIANTLY play drums like a drunk 11 year old: to remind myself I’m a human being)——but the rawness of this song is WHY some 50 years later after it was recorded in 1974 it STILL stands tall today (meanwhile I spun a song some days ago in a club that I swore was gonna be our song of the year and *shockers* it ran its course (the screams of joy it brought some 3 months ago was now a “uh that was last season dawg”) chasing “perfection” squeezes the LIFE out of a song like an IG filter. Imma see you in real life warts and all people! Embrace the imperfection (Dilla is a great example of modern music making while maintaining a living breathing pulse of imperfection3. I love how the adlibs towards the end of the song STILL resonate today (which makes me somewhat sad)4. We gotta work harder to get @pointersisters_official into the @rockhall Watch Tho. This is amazing.
