Gripes:
First, the low-hanging fruit. I believe there was only one named female character... who was an ancestor of Bilbo, and so clearly did not have any lines. There was mention of "women and children", but that was it. #Bechdel surely has some thoughts.

I have seen Fury Road many times. Though its brutality is not everyone’s cup of tea, its color palette is exquisite, the worldbuilding intrigues, the CGI is imperceptible, and the acting is top notch. The story is simple and never lags. A modern masterpiece.

Plus, it passes the #Bechdel test. ;)

Rereading The Essential Dykes to Watch Out For and feeling sentimental about the early 90s. I read these strips the first time around when they ran in Outlines, one of Chicago's excellent erstwhile #LGBTQ+ newspapers. Revisiting them is a nice if poignant form of time travel. #Bechdel #QueerComics

Anybody else SUPER STOKED about #AlteredCarbon on @netflix - only to wind up SUPER PUT OFF by its outdated treatment of women?? Three episodes in and it bombs the #Bechdel test so far. Women NPCs barely have any agency of their own at all. Hope it improves!!
