Pinned male specimen of Anthophora (Anthophora) plumipes (Pallas, 1772). Its appearance is somewhat robust, and its pale yellowish face greatly facilitates its ID.

Males can be recognised by the absence of dense pilosity on the posterior legs.

First attempt at bee identification after the end of the #BeeCourseBarcelona and... lucky me!

Took a random box from the didactic collection (spec. without data labels) and found this #Anthophora plumipes - the only species of this genus present in Spain. 🐝🔍
