Rich County commissioners approve plan to shift substance-abuse Medicaid capitation to Bear River Mental Health The Rich County Commission voted to approve a plan to move substance‑abuse Medicaid capitation under Bear River Mental Health, aligning mental‑health and substance‑use services under a single capitated provider; staff said the change will require contract and interlocal agreement rewrites before July 1 and add about $4,000 a year to Rich County’s 2027 budget.

Committee hears King County crisis‑care center update; East zone includes Snoqualmie, operators sought in RFP round Council member Cotton briefed the committee on King County’s levy-funded crisis care centers: five facilities by 2030 (one already open in Kirkland), an East zone that includes Snoqualmie, staffing estimates of 120–140 per facility, and an RFP timeline with operator procurement expected to be evaluated in April–May; transportation reimbursement and community engagement were flagged as outstanding issues.

King County is rolling out five crisis care centers by 2030, with the first already open in Kirkland, promising 24/7 behavioral health support for all—insurance not required!
