In our rush we made some posing errors. I should mention that a large selection of photos from #BetweenUsAndCatastrophe are hanging now at the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia. #photosky #photography #portrait #portraitphotography #oralhistory #photographer #leica #ttartisans

A year later, Linda had left her job, one that she had loved before. It was just the relentless grind of death. The bridge that we'd met on the year before was under construction. A worker secretly snuck us on so we could take our photo. #covid #covidnurse #BetweenUsAndCatastrophe

Margaret, portrait #6, 2025. I imagine that at some point this park is going to be a building and I’ll find myself trying to talk my way into someone’s office to take a photo on some march 26th in the future. But we’re in this project for the long haul. #BetweenUsAndCatastrophe

This is Margaret, 5 days after the stay at home order. She'd volunteered to take care of the hospital's first COVID patient, because she lived alone. She figured that if she got sick, she wouldn't hurt anyone else. Back then there was no treatment, no vaccine. It was scary. #BetweenUsAndCatastrophe

I knew that the world had been divided into People Who Could Solve This & People Who Should Stay Home & Watch Netflix. I knew it was important to record the stories of the people who were working to solve this & I started photographing COVID nurses. #BetweenUsAndCatastrophe

On this day, 5 years ago, the city had just been locked down. Everybody been sent home & there was an empty, personal sense of dread. We didn't know how long it would last, if we had enough to survive. Only that people were dying in NY, in LA & it was headed our way..... #BetweenUsAndCatastrophe
