I have a post MRI follow-up appointment in the morning. Still can't have the surgery without a place to recover. But I hope so much I can long distance #BicycleTour again.

The completed route. The ride along the Niagara River Parkway in Canada is beautiful. I'm sure it's also nice when it doesnt rain. "Stay dry", said a guy at the hotel. "Not a chance" was my response. Key is to embrace the liquid sunshine.

I've been riding hard on the empire state trail / erie canal. Last night in the tent. Tomorrow I'll have a hotel in Niagara Falls Ontario. Tuesday bike to Buffalo to pickup rental car and drive home.

I just got a tour lock 7 of the Eri Canal in NY. It's fully functional and a boat went through it while I was there. So cool!

I survived another cold night in my tent. Tomorrow and the night after will be below 40 degrees. Not a chance to sleep with my lightweight sleeping bag in these temperatures. I'm trying to find some alternatives.

Tough day. Lots of road riding with hills and headwinds. 80 miles today.
I have to remind myself of all the good parts earlier in the day: 2,000 miles, awsome Hudson crossing, an awsome trail.
I hope it doesn't get too cold tonight with the wind and platform.

Yesterday was my longest day with 98 miles.
This morning I reached 2000 miles as I crossed the Hudson River. Really beautiful views too.

I still have no clue how far or where I'll sleep tomorrow. Tomorrow the route is taking me inland before taking me to the coast at Seaside Hights.

On the road again to NYC. Reached the bay bridge at Annapolis. 58 miles.

It's not over yet. My extended goal will be riding up the east coast to NYC. A WS host is shutteling me across the Bay Bridge and then it'll go up along the coast region. But first a couple rest days in DC.

Wow, I'm at the last C&O camp before DC. Tomorrow I finish my extended goal (initial goal was the eastern IA border). Yesterday I rode 60 miles and today 50 miles.

Also yesterday we moved camp from noisy rail yard (first C&O camp) to noisy rail tracks (2nd C&O camp). Not sure it helped a lot but we had to setup camp in the dark. (Another bingo card item.)

We're staying at Queen Aliquippa Camp at our beginning of the Great Allegheny Passage portion. 71 miles today on mostly rail trails. 👍
5th state, Pennsylvania. I still need to apply that sticker to my bike.

Only 36 miles today but lot of road and steep hills. No fun. Needed to take a shuttle across the Ohio River because the only bridge here doesn't allow bikes. Staying at a hotel in Weirton to clean up.

The Mt. Vernon area is really pretty for biking. Plenty of old rail road stations converted into rest areas with all amenities.
It's Saturday so everyone is out on the trail. Even the Amish on their e-bikes.
