On the road again to NYC. Reached the bay bridge at Annapolis. 58 miles.
Got to watch a crazy powerline maintenance and found &turned in a phone on the road.

It's not over yet. My extended goal will be riding up the east coast to NYC. A WS host is shutteling me across the Bay Bridge and then it'll go up along the coast region. But first a couple rest days in DC.

Wow, I'm at the last C&O camp before DC. Tomorrow I finish my extended goal (initial goal was the eastern IA border). Yesterday I rode 60 miles and today 50 miles.

Also yesterday we moved camp from noisy rail yard (first C&O camp) to noisy rail tracks (2nd C&O camp). Not sure it helped a lot but we had to setup camp in the dark. (Another bingo card item.)

We're staying at Queen Aliquippa Camp at our beginning of the Great Allegheny Passage portion. 71 miles today on mostly rail trails. 👍
5th state, Pennsylvania. I still need to apply that sticker to my bike.

Only 36 miles today but lot of road and steep hills. No fun. Needed to take a shuttle across the Ohio River because the only bridge here doesn't allow bikes. Staying at a hotel in Weirton to clean up.

The Mt. Vernon area is really pretty for biking. Plenty of old rail road stations converted into rest areas with all amenities.
It's Saturday so everyone is out on the trail. Even the Amish on their e-bikes.

Getting a little further in Ohio. 80 miles today. Staying at the London hiker/biker Campsite which is really cool.
Another bicyclist from Seattle is staying here tonight. Also going to DC but he's younger and lighter packed than me and will be much faster.

Today is the 13th day on the road. Only 43 miles. I'm staying in a hotel tonight and got a shower and washed my clothes.
I had another pancakes and bacon lunch on the trail while the tent was drying.

I got a big bump on my right leg. That hurts a little but some initial riding went well.
Peru looks like a neat place. The German bakery was closed though. And there are no hotels in town to explore the place so I'll continue on.

Just crashed. Slow speed, tight turnaround on gravel. Front tire slipped sideways and or front bag hit the ground. Bike and I tipped over. Legs are hurting but I don't think I broke anything. Taking a rest now and reassess in a bit.

Living the luxury. I've went out and asked some strangers if I could pitch my tent in their yard. They have showered me with treats, water, electricity and a chair. Wow and thanks!
