After 26 days, 2424 kilometers, 16 talks and only two flat tires, #BikeAndTalk2024 from Konstanz to Oslo is over! It was a fantastic trip, and I’m so grateful for meeting so many great colleagues along the way. Hope to do another iteration of this format next year.

Was a bit of a longer trip today (200k), but I made it to Norway! Second half (north of Uddevalla) was beautiful. Some occasional showers kept me well hydrated (at least from the outside). Tomorrow will be the last leg of #BikeAndTalk2024 to Oslo!

After spending time in Copenhagen and Lund, it was good to be out on the road again. Mostly perfect cycling conditions between Lund and Gothenburg, and lots of great views! #BikeAndTalk2024

My first #BikeAndTalk2024 presentation in Copenhagen was today at the Copenhagen Business School, organized by @fhollenbach.bsky.social. Thanks so much for having me, was great to visit!

Had a blast presenting at the Department of Political Science at @aarhusuni.bsky.social as part of #BikeAndTalk2024. @claranw.bsky.social and @skaaning.bsky.social were wonderful hosts, thanks so much! Now off to the island of Zealand on the ferry and on to Copenhagen tomorrow.

I’m not superstitious, but Day 13 has clearly been the worst of #BikeAndTalk2024. Long detour shortly after Kiel (bridge closed), rescued my bike from the Baltic Sea (for a photo! So stupid. But it floats), and pouring rain when entering Denmark. Tomorrow will be a better day!

Today, I presented our work with Sukayna Younger-Khan and @lfoswaldo.bsky.social one more time at the University of Kiel. Thanks for having me, Christian Martin! After 9/16 presentations and 1350km, more than half of #BikeAndTalk2024 is over. Tomorrow, I will be leaving Germany for Denmark!

Day 9 of #BikeAndTalk2024 had a pretty tight schedule, with two presentations (Braunschweig and Hannover) and a total of 170k by bike. Thanks to Mina Rulis for co-presenting, and to Anja Jakobi, Dominic Nyhuis and Christoph Hönnige for hosting the talks!

120k from Marburg to Kassel today in very mixed weather. Took the scenic route along Edersee lake, but had to pay for it - bike was a mess, because of the unpaved and muddy trails. #BikeAndTalk2024

As part of #BikeAndTalk2024, I presented at the University of Marburg today, hosted by @mqpellicer.bsky.social. Great turnout, also because Simone Abendschön and members of the team from Gießen University were able to join us!

#BikeAndTalk2024 Day 4 brought some rain for the trip from Mainz to Marburg. But cycling through the Taunus mountains was nice, with a bit of a climb to the Feldberg summit.

Perfect cycling conditions on Day 2 of #BikeAndTalk2024 from Karlsruhe to Mannheim, with cool and dry weather and tailwind. Thanks to the MZES and in particular Richard Traunmüller for hosting my talk!

Day 1 of #BikeAndTalk2024 went just fine, despite getting soaked on the first 20k. Arrived in Karlsruhe after 180k and some scenic stretches in the Black Forest Mountains. Was great to wrap up the day with a dinner with former student @lks.bsky.social !
