Teachings to Silence and Ignore the Lambs, by Watchman Nee, Witness Lee and Bill Gothard From multiple witnesses' reports, Watchman Nee, Witness Lee and Bill Gothard engaged in and/or covered up years of immorality. All three of them also taught not to speak about anything that is evil, nor to hear/listen to anything evil. Although this may seem justifiable by some scriptures, it leaves the vulnerable with no one to turn to, no one who will listen to them. It allows wolves to prey on the lambs. For such leaders, it's convenient and even necessary that no one will listen to the lambs if and when they finally cry out for help. Speaking can bring in light and healing and justice. When someone's works are evil, they don't want any speaking about evil things. When someone's works are evil, they try to protect themselves with immunity as "authority" figures. When someone's work is evil, they say that those who know evil are in death and that God hates death more than sin. All of these teachings silence and ignore the lambs who are being abused by authors of such teachings, or by those predators the teachers are protecting. Witness Lee admonishes followers in 1974 to not accept any word, news, rumors or gossip that does not come through the "front door" in an open, "proper" way - presumably by himself or a leading brother loyal to him. Wounded sheep and lambs are definitely NOT considered the front door mouthpieces of the local churches. But our words and pain and concerns and questions and experiences and observations..... matter.
