I watched this ibis (a juvenile?) up in a tree, in a park in Brisbane, Queensland. It had ventured out of the ibis nest which is in the tree and seemed to test its balance on a twig. On its left, maybe one of the parents watching?

A small, brightly colored yellow bird, American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis)., perched delicately on a green plant stem among several blooming yellow flowers. The bird has a vivid lemon-yellow body, a black cap on its head, and black wings with white accents. It appears to be an American goldfinch. Its beak is open slightly, as if it is calling or nibbling on the plant. One tiny pinkish foot grips a green bud for balance. The flowers around it are daisy-like, with long yellow petals radiating from green centers. The background is softly blurred in shades of green, giving the scene a peaceful, summery feel. The overall mood is bright, gentle, and full of natural beauty, capturing a moment of a small bird interacting with wildflowers.
