Three bowls, one large with a whisk in it, one medium one tiny. The large bowl has flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and espresso powder. The medium bowl has buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and avocado oil. The tiny bowl is empty but it had boiling water in it shortly after this photo was taken.
The ingredients all mixed together with a whisk in the large bowl.
Two 12 count cupcake pans with white liners each filled about 1/2 to 3/4 full of chocolatey cupcake batter. Both trays are sitting on a sheet cake pan ready to go in the oven. Not Pictured: The extra 8" cake pan that I filled as well. I made too much batter, I think.
