(1/31) I'm also doing a #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth roundup. Like with my #Women'sHistoryMonth roundup, I've included readings, videos, people, and general history, but I excluded events, as those are typically time-sensitive/specific.
PSA for #TransDayofVisibility, #Women'sHistoryMonth, and #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth: Trans bisexual women and femme persons exist, and their health and overall wellbeing matter

This month is Bisexual Health Awareness Month (#BiHealthMonth) The 2026 theme, "Claiming the Right to Care," focuses on securing accessible, competent, and affirming healthcare for people attracted to more than one gender.

Considering #QueerWriters is trending, I'll take this moment to opportunistically ask folks to talk about their favorite queer writer/works
Bonus points if they happen to write about bisexuality and health (since it is #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth 💜)
(1/2) Some movies about bi + health/general existence for #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth. Note that I haven't seen some of these, so I can't fully endorse them. But I hope they're good!

Sharing during #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth b/c music is good for one's mental health. Also, I'm 1000% sharing this again for #Pride

I wanted to highlight this during #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth because health includes mental health, and having to hide parts of yourself negatively impacts that

One of many examples of ongoing US imperialism. I'm sure folks can connect the dots as to why this might be particularly relevant during #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth and why it'll become relevant again during #Pride

I'm sharing this report because I think people can make the links here between digital discrimination, biphobia, and the negative consequences therein on folks' mental health.
#BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth
P.s. I should probably re-share this for #Pride as well
Biphobia and SWERFs contribute to intersecting, negative health outcomes for bi + sex workers. Biphobia creates/exacerbates health issues b/c of social marginalization, while SWERFs exacerbate these issues further by denying sex workers access to support + safety

I want to make a book recommendation that I think touches on #Women'sHistoryMonth and #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth in various stated & unstated ways: www.penguinrandomhouse.ca/books/646468...
There are many gaps to be sure, which the author herself acknowledges. But the book is worth a read

I'm sure you can find this article for free somewhere on the Internet ❤️
Biphobia and classism create intersecting systems of oppression that negatively impact people's health. These forms of discrimination are compounded by the "myth of gay affluence," which can lead to the neglect of socioeconomic status in queer health research

(2/3) Yet, it takes years if not lifetimes to undo the broader and more personal damage of this radicalization and the ideology behind it. Which is why things like #Women'sHistoryMonth and #BisexualHealthAwarenessMonth are so important.

(2/2) "Difficult" to treat (either medically or with dignity). "Difficult" to comprehend. "Difficult" to accept. Anyone who isn't cis-het, white, or straight is difficult under the isms. Also, this article is from 1997...take that biphobic/fatphobic 90s!
