This #BlackCatholicHistoryMonth, we honor Venerable Pierre Toussaint—born into slavery, he became a beacon of faith and charity in New York City.

He is the only lay person buried in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a lasting witness to his holiness and service.

Venerable Pierre Toussaint, pray for us!

As #BlackCatholicHistoryMonth continues, we’re focusing in on Bostonian, abolitionist, and #BlackCatholic Catharine Mason Morris. Born in Boston, Catharine’s social connections indicate her activism in the abolitionist movement. (Photo from: cdm.bostonathenaeum.org/digital/coll...)
