Born in 1924, Jim McHarris embraced his identity as a trans man in his early teens.

In the 1950s, after a traffic stop exposed his identity, McHarris was forced through the legal system and out of his home. He said, "I ain't done nothing wrong and I ain't breaking no laws." #BlackTransHistory
