Bowls carved from the variety of fluorite called Blue John. It is a fibrous form of the mineral, in this case coloured transparent white with purple bands.

Blue John Stone, golden with three blue stripes.
Not the finest piece in the world, and rather horribly mounted as a pendant, but every day we find a little nugget of the auld Blue John is a good day.
