🌏 Indian Peafowl (Pavo cristatus) The Indian Peafowl is a large, ground-dwelling bird known for its sexual dimorphism. Males, or peacocks, have iridescent blue and green plumage, a fan-like crest, and a spectacular long train of "eyespot" feathers for courtship display. Females, or peahens, are duller, with brownish plumage and no train. Native to the Indian subcontinent, they are found in forests and cultivated land near water.
