Not sure which my favourite was, but I think #TheCairnDistillery 18 Year Old is the best bang for buck of the bunch. Thanks @thewhiskywire.bsky.social for organising. Love #BlueSkyTastings, they are like the old days of the other place.

Right as rain blended Scotch Whisky

Finish: the chilli builds into the finish like a good curry meeting with a charred oak giving smoke sensations with some fired marshmallow

Spey 12 Year Old Single Malt

Palate with water: can just about cope with a drop of water which keeps the flavours but brings out more bitterness on the finish with oak being more pronounced.

Finish is peppery, chilli, caramel cremes.

Finish: chilli & pepper, maybe some nut oil.
After a while a strong coffee bean with bitterness appears then goes, leaving a bitter drying oak.

Palate Not as strong as the nose suggests. Initially dilute, but after a moment the dried dark fruits & spices show. More mince pie than xmas cake Vanilla & caramel are almost hidden by cinnamon & ginger

When it does arrive its very tasty 🥃
