Great-looking man, and a great villainous look...

But, you know... moving pictures and such. Not every still frame is a work of art. This was... unfortunate, but it made me laugh REALLY hard, especially bc the next, like, frame or two, he looks amazing. It's just those in between moments...

I just think he makes a great villain. His accent and the eye thing, and he's, like, kind of a wuss, but also a huge threat. He's interesting! And Mads Mikkelsen is largely responsible for that, in my mind, though here the writing favors him.

He actually cries this blood from his eye. It goes from being a barely-noticeable drop in the inside corner of his eye (stage-right corner of his right eye, next to his nose), and then wells to a full, running line down his cheek. It's wild. Some tech must have stepped in immediately prior to "Action!" and squirted something into his eye, which already would have had a bulky contact. I reckon. I can't figure it out, though. I'll look it up later.

Ha! I love this so much! "Weeping blood comes merely from a derangement of the tear duct," and the reverse shot here showing his conversation-partner's face would ordinarily suggest this is a reshoot/ADR, but I actually think this might be a creative choice to key in on the face of the guy reacting to this. Hard to say for sure.

Can't for the life of me figure out how they got him to cry 🩸 for this unbroken shot, but for me, what sells this wild #BondVillain affectation is the description he gives:
