It’s optional whether they have kids or not. *Everyone is wearing costumes themed around various historical events in the USA during 1865-1900. Frenchie and Wee John are there too, but the rest of the crew are attending another party, or are in another country. Stede never married Mary, but she and her husband Doug can be there with their kids as guests. Stede and Mary can be friends! Insert non-obligatory party stuff here. Stede keeps sneaking glances at Izzy, who is wearing dark leather chaps and a matching vest. Out of everyone else in costume, Stede thinks he looks the most like a Cowboy romance-novella beau. Ed enters a drinking contest with Wee John, Roach, and Jack. Jack wins and the other three pass out. Jack’s too drunk to safely handle the fireworks, and with Wee John and Roach asleep, that leaves Stede and Izzy in charge of them. They set up the first rocket and Izzy waits until Stede is back with the group before he lights the wick and runs. It shoots up and beautiful gold sparks pop across the night sky. It’s almost magical. They go again and again, and Izzy lights them every time. Stede’s breath hitches every time his and Izzy’s fingers touch over the fireworks, however briefly. ~~~ *Recommended Events: February 13th, 1866: Frank and Jesse James do their first bank robbery in Liberty, Missouri. It takes a minute for them to reach the house. Anne guides them to the guest bathroom.

His mother died during childbirth and his father never remarried (nobody would accept that awful man’s proposals). He is expected by society to marry and produce suitable heirs. Izzy was born from noble blood but was raised by sailors (not our favorite pirates) after he ran away. His attitude and accent changed as he grew up. The sailors were executed and Izzy was forced to live in women’s clothing until marriage. The whole thing was kept secret. No man would propose to Izzy, and no woman would accept Stede’s proposals (he didn’t like them either), so their parents arranged their marriage. Neither of them were happy. They didn’t get along until Izzy came out to Stede (Stede saw him using Ye Olde Stand-To-Pee devices outside that week and had questions later). Stede accepts Izzy as a man, but Izzy is still hesitant around him. Stede and Izzy didn’t want kids, and avoided sex altogether, despite their parents pushing them to produce heirs. They told their parents that they were both infertile to get them off their backs. Their parents view them both as failures and leave them alone. They’re in their 30’s and still haven’t slept together. Optional: Stede’s father forced them both to see a physician. It turns out they actually were both infertile! Stede’s infertility was due to a low sperm count and Izzy’s was caused by the abuse in his youth.
