Das Foto zeigt die Great Stupa von Boudhanath mit ca. 43 m Höhe und einem Durchmesser von knapp 31 Metern. Der Bau geht der Überlieferung nach auf die Licchavi-Könige (5. Jh.) zurück. Auf der weiß-gelben Kuppel befindet sich die rechteckige Basis der Spitze, auf dessen vier Seiten jeweils Augen zu sehen sind. Darauf erhebt sich stufenweise die eckige Spitze. Auf ihr befindet sich ein runder Schirm, an dem zu allen vier Seiten Fähnchen in den Farben gelb, grün, rot, weiß und blau bis zur Basis der Stupa reichen. Die Spitze ist komplett vergoldet.
