My Letterbox’d 2025 releases ranking. The 2025 releases I’ve seen ranked, Letterbox’d orders best to worst lists weird but overall this seems accurate.

A screen shot of my 2025 Letterbox’d stats. The section across the top shows notable films: the first film watched is "Pacific Rim" on January 2, the 50th film is "Asteroid City" on April 13, the 100th is "War of the Worlds" on August 11, and the 150th is "Doctor Who: Silver Nemesis" on November 24. The last film watched is "Strangers on a Train" on December 31. Below, under Most Watched, there are seven films, each marked as watched "Twice." The films are "Wake Up Dead Man," "Black Bag," "Sinners," "Frankenstein," "Rogue One," and "Dracula."

That’s two very different first and last watches of 2025 😅 also the duel viewings of Frankenstein and Dracula feel rather on brand. Best wishes for 2026 and fingers crossed for more cinematic bangers 👍

A ★★★ review of The Home (2025) Very bizarre film from the get go, like most of the time watching I got kinda lost throughout it but I kinda got back on track then. Was an alright film to probably past time.

A ★★★★½ review of Frankenstein (2025) This was a banger of a movie from the get go, it got me hooked every minute of the movie. A work of art! The whole cast played marvellous.

My kid covering her eyes but peeking through her fingers while watching RETURN TO OZ (1985), almost as if finding the content scary. I will say that the content is definitely Halloween-appropriate, and that the film probably would have performed better if released around Halloween rather than on June 21st, 1985. Early in the film there is even a reference to how Halloween is fast approaching.

I often seen the film cited online by people saying it snuck up on them & delivered a sneaky dose of childhood trauma. Mentioned on #boxd 👆🏻, they're almost always talking about 1 (unexpected?) aspect of the film. Can say that my kid—who may like to act tough—reported "0 scares" 🤣; 📷👀; she gave it 5⭐

I finally saw ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER (2025), more or less w/o having been exposed to any spoilers, & almost entirely due to very positive word-of-mouth. This led to my finally testing out the spoiler-warning system on Letterboxd, maybe the killer feature of #boxd for me. Proof of concept in 7¶:
