Father Daniel opens up on Grandy Twins’ progress and separate spotlights

“I’m extremely proud of the progress both Daniel and Steven have made since turning professional,” Grandy Sr. told WBN. “They’ve been dedicated to boxing since they were little kids, and now you’re seeing that work translate at the pro level. Each fight shows growth, not just in their skills but in their composure under the lights.”
That growth was on display this past weekend when Daniel went past the opening round for the first time as a professional. Facing seasoned veteran Frank Brown at the Paradigm Combat Sports Training Center in Sugar Land, Texas, Daniel scored an early knockdown before dominating through four rounds to claim a wide unanimous decision.
It was a moment of maturity for a fighter who, until then, had ended bouts before fans could even blink. His twin, Steven, remains perfect with three first-round knockouts in as many fights.
Learning with rounds
“Yes, I was glad to see Daniel get some rounds in,” Senior admitted. “As exciting as first-round knockouts are, facing a seasoned opponent and having to work through a few rounds gives us valuable experience. It’s important for his development to be able to adjust and show he can dominate beyond the opening bell.”
The performance reinforced what separates the Grandy brothers from many prospects — their ability to adapt. Despite being teenagers, they already look comfortable making adjustments against any opposition.
Spotlighting separately
Recently, the Grandys have also boxed on separate cards, something Daniel Sr. explained was by design.
“It was a conscious decision to keep them on separate cards. This gives each of them their own spotlight, their own moment to shine. We’ll continue to mix it up — sometimes together, sometimes apart — depending on what’s best for their progression and the events themselves.”
That approach ensures neither brother lives in the other’s shadow while allowing promoters to capitalize on the unique buzz that each brings to the sport.
Records, titles, and history
With six combined wins, all at 17, whispers are already circulating about timelines to titles — and possibly history. The Grandys are acutely aware of the youngest world champion records.
“We definitely see titles in their future,” said Daniel Sr. “Our timeline is about steady growth, not rushing, but we’re very aware of the records out there, and the idea of becoming the youngest world champion has crossed our minds. The main focus, though, is making sure they’re fully prepared when those opportunities come.”
A viral foundation
The hype surrounding Steven and Daniel is no overnight phenomenon. As WBN reported back in 2022, the twins were already household names in boxing circles before they turned ten years old.
From viral mitt work as toddlers to gym sessions alongside Shakur Stevenson and Terence Crawford, their journey is rooted in dedication.
That philosophy has resonated with fans who watched them grow up online and now tune in to witness their early professional dominance.

With Al Haymon, Top Rank, and other power players circling, the race to sign the Grandy Twins is well underway. For now, though, Daniel and Steven remain under the careful watch of their father, building steadily toward the inevitable.
