BOYCOTT COMPLICIT SOCIETIES
While assuming a seemingly neutral stance, as the largest archaeological organisation operating in the region, the American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR) continues to welcome, host, platform and partner with archaeologists who are knowingly participating in (or normalising) war crimes. This includes archaeologists who have participated in Israel’s Gaza genocide, and those working in illegal settlement universities.
By intentionally welcoming numerous participants working at illegal settlement based institutions, ASOR is in breach of the legal obligation triggered by the July 2024 ICJ ruling, not to recognise, aid or assist in maintaining Israel's illegal military presence in the occupied Palestinian territories. The American Society of Overseas Research is undoubtedly the most deeply, cynically, complicit in Israel's ongoing war crimes.
